Parque Nacional Tayrona
Durante el próximo 28 de enero hasta 28 de febrero, cuatro pueblos indígenas de la Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta realizarán procesos culturales de limpieza, sanación, protección ambiental y espiritual al Parque Nacional Tayrona.
El cierre, que fue acordado entre las comunidades indígenas y Parques Nacionales de Colombia, espera darle un respiro a la fauna y flora del lugar y permitir la regeneración de los procesos naturales de las playas, los ecosistemas y las especies que habitan en el Parque Tayrona.
“Esta medida resulta adecuada para dejar descansar los ecosistemas. Igualmente, los Mamos de la Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta consideran que es una fecha propicia para cumplir con sus actividades de pagamento”, asegura Carlos Mario Tamayo, director encargado de Parques Nacionales Naturales de Colombia.
Tamayo agregó que “durante el cierre pasado se pudo observar al jaguar, mamíferos pequeños y medianos y otras especies, que empezaron a salir a los pocos días del cierre del Parque, cuando se limitó el tránsito de personas. Además, con esta medida se recuperan los suelos, las fuentes de agua y el aire; disminuye el estrés de los ecosistemas y se aporta a la naturaleza, que por esa época del año, enfrenta una temporada seca”.
El Parque Nacional Natural Tayrona es la segunda área protegida con más visitantes del país. Durante el primer semestre de 2017 ingresaron un total de 185.325 visitantes.
