Lo que debe saber del nuevo pasaporte colombiano
La Cancillería anunció modificaciones importantes al actual documento, que empezará a circular el próximo 15 de julio. Además de cumplir con los últimos estándares de seguridad, también hay novedades estéticas que lo diferencian de sus anteriores versiones. El cambio no será obligatorio hasta que se cumpla la fecha de vencimiento del pasaporte antiguo.
Los pasaportes, en general, deben cambiar cada ocho años para actualizar los mecanismos de seguridad conforme a los estándares internacionales. Hoy, la canciller María Ángela Holguín, a través de una rueda de prensa, presentó el nuevo pasaporte que utilizarán los colombianos para salir del país. Luego de nueve años sin tener un cambio significativo, ahora la Cancillería asegura que tiene un documento totalmente rediseñado.
La primera y gran aclaración es que no será necesario cambiar el pasaporte para aquellos que tengan versiones anteriores. “Hoy en día es válido el pasaporte de lectura mecánica, el electrónico y este nuevo que se iniciará a expedir a partir del 15 de julio. El único pasaporte que no es válido es el que tenía la foto sobrepuesta, que son hojas rosadas y que la foto se pone encima. Ese, desde 2015 no se puede utilizar. Este nuevo no quiere decir que la gente lo tenga que sacar, simplemente los que lo tienen que renovar por fecha normal de expedición», aseguró Holguín.
Además, aseguró que el precio seguirá siendo el mismo al de los anteriores. Sobre la seguridad, la canciller destacó: «Está elaborado con los más altos estándares de seguridad física y lógica. Tiene materiales en línea con normas internacionales y la implementación de nuevas características de seguridad. Estamos con uno de los pasaportes más seguros en el mundo. El beneficio es que cada vez los países van a estar más tranquilos de recibir este pasaporte y a los colombianos».
En términos estéticos, habrá algunos cambios. “Ahora la foto de la persona también va a estar en una foto al fondo de la información, es decir, van a haber dos fotos y tiene la fecha y el número del vencimiento del pasaporte también dos veces. Hicimos un documento en el que le estamos haciendo honor a nuestros paisajes turísticos de Colombia, cada página es un lugar del país. Un pasaporte muy bonito”, remató la canciller.
