El Carnaval de Barranquilla 2019 será una fiesta musical debido a la celebración de los 50 años del Festival de Orquestas, un evento que reúne a las mejores agrupaciones musicales que aspiran a ganar el máximo galardón de las festividades, el Congo de Oro, y también celebramos los 100 años del natalicio de Esthercita Forero, la novia de Barranquilla, quien sigue siendo uno de los principales referentes artísticos de la ciudad. Es por estos importantes sucesos que la imagen del Carnaval de Barranquilla 2019 está inspirada en la música como pieza fundamental de nuestras fiestas.
La música, sus intérpretes y las manifestaciones tradicionales del Carnaval de Barranquilla son homenajeados en la imagen de la fiesta para el 2019.
